Reasons for Changes in The Effect Of Polyacrylamide Solutions
The reasons for the change in the effect of polyacrylamide solution. Polyacrylamide is used for sewage treatment. Customers often report why the prepared solution is not effective, has no effect, or the effect is not so good after a few days. Why is this?
Reasons for changes in the effect of polyacrylamide solutions
1. Storage time, because polyacrylamide will be stored for too long, which will cause the product to decrease, making the effect worse. Generally, the prepared solution will be stored for a long time. The degradation of the solution is mainly due to the hydrolysis of the amide group and the increase in the content of the hydroxyl group.
2. Temperature. When the temperature of the polyacrylamide solution prepared at 0.1% reaches high, the high molecular weight polypropylene will degrade in a short time. Because the degradation becomes faster as the temperature increases, it is generally recommended that the temperature should not exceed 60°C.
3. Mechanical stirring. Mechanical stirring can increase the dissolution speed of the product, but high-speed stirring will shorten the molecular chain of polypropylene. Generally, the stirring speed should be controlled well, and high-intensity stirring equipment and high-speed conveying equipment should not be used.
4. Avoid light. Light will increase the temperature and cause polyacrylamide to dissolve and degrade. Direct exposure to ultraviolet light will cause rapid dissolution and degradation.
5. Avoid impurities, dissolve polyacrylamide solids, use neutral water, and avoid water with high hardness or impurities, because it will affect the viscosity of the product and the effect of use.
